ABOUT ME
Rooted in relationship
Learn about the experiences and values that shape how I work.
Hi, I'm Anna (she/hers).
In our work together, you'll be with a warm human who's genuinely present, not a cold professional keeping careful, clinical distance. I bring my whole, curious self into the room, because I know that bringing in my realness helps make it safe enough for you to bring yours.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Ecotherapist, and I'm passionate about helping people rediscover their innate wholeness and belonging in a world that so often pulls us apart. In my experience, lasting change rarely comes from insight alone. It grows in relationship, in the felt experience of being cared for and taken seriously, so the emotions that once felt overwhelming can begin to move and soften.
My StoryHow I found my way to
nature therapy
Healing unfolds in relationship: with ourselves, with one another, and with the living world that holds us.
I hadn't planned on becoming a therapist, but over time it's become clear that this work was always finding me. Growing up on a farm taught me that we are not separate from nature, but part of it. Years later, while working in environmental restoration on a Superfund site, I found myself helping repair damaged landscapes while becoming increasingly disconnected from my own. Burnout became an invitation to listen differently.
A mentor introduced me to the field of Ecopsychology, and I felt an immediate sense of recognition. It gave language to something I had always known: how we care for the land often reflects how we care for ourselves. I found myself drawn upstream, toward cultivating the conditions where healing, resilience, and connection can take root.
Today, as a licensed therapist specializing in trauma, relational healing, and ecotherapy, my work is informed by AEDP and grounded in the belief that healing emerges through safety, curiosity, and authentic connection. I practice through an anti-oppressive, systems-aware lens, honoring both the personal and systemic forces that shape our lives.

The work begins where you feel safe.
We build safety and rapport over time. From that foundation, your self-compassion, sense of empowerment, and capacity for meaning can come back online.
I draw on a range of approaches and weave them to fit your needs, not the other way around:
AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Trauma-informed mindfulness
Nature-informed interventions
However we work, the tools themselves matter less than the relationship we build. What heals is the experience of being truly seen, taken seriously, and supported as your whole self. Then we'll introduce qualities that help life feel more possible: curiosity, reciprocity, belonging, trust, and self-compassion. As these capacities grow, you can feel more aligned with yourself, more connected to others, and more able to take part in your life with intention.
When I'm not in session
You'll most likely find me on an early morning walk in the nearby woods, seated at a full dinner table with people I love, or catching an inspired breath of poetry. Home these days is Charlottesville, shared with my husband, my daughter, an unruly garden, and a few furry companions.
I share this because I think it matters: the same things that replenish me (connection, nature, presence) are at the heart of the work we'd do together.
