AREAS OF FOCUS
What I help with
You don’t need to know exactly what to call what you’re going through. If something here sounds familiar, we can start there.
Who I work with
I work especially well with people who long for deeper connection—with themselves, others, and the world around them; who want to heal in relationship; and who are ready for experiential work that moves beyond talking about change.
Many of the people I work with are LGBTQIA*, neurodivergent (including HSP, Autistic, and ADHD or VAST folks), or healing from trauma, especially complex trauma. But you don't need to recognize yourself in a list or fit a particular label to belong here. If the way I work resonates with you, that's enough. You're welcome exactly as you are.
-
Maybe you've been carrying something for a long time: one event your body hasn't moved through, or years of surviving in ways that once kept you safe and now feel costly.
We move at your nervous system's pace. I draw primarily on AEDP, with IFS, mindfulness, and nature-based practice woven in. EMDR is one tool when it fits. The goal isn't to relive the past. It's integration, so you can feel more grounded now.
-
Maybe you feel the weight of what's happening to the planet: ecological dread, climate anxiety, burnout, or grief for what's already lost. Maybe you're an activist, a parent, a scientist, or simply someone who feels hopeless about the future.
These feelings are not a disorder. They're a sane response, and they deserve to be held. As a climate-aware therapist, I won't rush to fix them. We'll make room for what you're carrying and reconnect you to grounding and resilience, often through relationship with the living world.
-
Maybe you know what the issues are but can't seem to ignite change. Maybe you've tried therapy before, or you understand your patterns intellectually but can't embody what you know.
We slow things down so your nervous system can catch up. Using AEDP and trauma-informed mindfulness, often with nature, we work to understand what your symptoms have been protecting, not just manage them.
-
Maybe a transition has surfaced questions about who you are: identity, relationships, purpose, or a longing for deeper connection with yourself and the world.
Using IFS, and nature-based practice when it fits, we listen to the parts of you, excited and afraid, certain and unsure, so you can move forward more aligned with your authentic self.
-
Maybe you feel unmoored or disconnected from yourself, others, or the world. In AEDP, there's a phrase I come back to: undoing aloneness. Healing happens in relationship with safe others.
Ecotherapy can bring the natural world into that work, building connection, perspective, and moments of belonging that can be especially healing when early needs went unmet.
-
Maybe you're a caregiver, helper, or activist running closer to empty than you let on. Or maybe your body has reached its limit after years of masking in a world that asks you to hide or override parts of yourself.
Burnout isn't a personal failing. It can be a response to carrying too much for too long, often within systems that weren't built with your needs in mind. We tend to your nervous system, explore boundaries, and find forms of support and replenishment that fit your life.
Why experiential therapy?
There's a difference between talking about a bicycle and actually riding one. Experiential therapy promotes deeper change through lived experience, not theory applied to you.
Our work is immersive and relational. We may draw on AEDP, IFS, mindfulness, and nature-based practice, blended based on what you need.
